Fourth of July

We're celebrating the Fourth of July with friends today.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to celebrate the 4th.  Parental rights, personal healthcare rights, and other rights people have already fought and justly won are being threatened.  It's hard to celebrate our country's freedom when people are losing their individual rights right now.

Every few weeks it feels like I'm watching bits and pieces of my country fall apart.  I, like many other parents are fighting so hard to prevent that.  Some days I feel like the fight is too much.  The time, work and sacrifices we're making take a toll.  Those in power probably want to see us to give in.  But to give up now?  That's just not going to happen.

When today is over, when the cookouts, the get togethers, and the fireworks are over, I'll be back to reading, learning, writing, and when needed, fighting.  My children, their health, and their future is too important.  Their freedom, my freedom, and your freedom to choose is important, too.

So it's onward, upward, and forward march we go.

To safeguard our children's health.

To protect my rights.

To defend your rights.

To preserve our future.
From a friend, unfinished stained glass of the United States flag
To freedom - may it always ring.

xo, Cat
